

Olivia Krakosky is the 2008 winner of the Eileen Bone Scholarship. Next year, she intends to study law and history at Victoria University of Wellington. This year, in her final year at Naenae College, Olivia was Deputy Head Girl, Co-chair of the School Community Council, and a prefect. The 2008 Naenae College dux, Olivia received awards for first place in English, German, Geography, and History, and received the W K Smiler Award for Excellence in Public Speaking. She also received a Victoria University of Wellington Equity Award as the first in her family to attend university and as a pupil from a low decile school. Naenae College is a decile 2 school (in the lowest 20% for parental incomes).
The Eileen Bone Award is an annual grant given to a final year student at Naenae College, Hutt City, Wellington, to enable the student to study at Victoria University of Wellington in the following year. The award was established in memory of long standing Wellington member of the Humanist Society of New Zealand, the late Eileen Bone, a former teacher of English and Head of English at Naenae College. The Humanist Society of New Zealand in conjunction with the Victoria University Foundation administers the award with funding from the New Zealand Humanist Trust.
